The Standard is Far From.

The Standard

The Standard as the name suggests is anything but.

I was lucky enough to be involved with a ladies 'Punters Club' and we decided to have our wind up here. It was the perfect setting and not to mention the tunes they were playing were awesome. Chilling out to Glady's Knight & The Pips - Midnight Train to Georgia and then getting pumped with a bit of Aretha Franklin - Respect, there was a whole lot of female love being thrown around.

It goes without saying the design and vibe of The Standard is wicked. A little rustic with some modern twists and epic views of the city from its deck, this two-storey bar nestled on Roe street is a gorgeous pairing of bar, garden and kitchen, creating a venue that is light, bright and breezy – which you could say is perfect for Perth.

Staying true to its heritage, the interior maintains an industrial design that exhibits modern pops and twists, creating a unique vibe that is well and truly buzzing.

What I didn't know about The Standard is that it is a great place for a function. I knew it was a cool bar but, the pre ordered food was to die for, I mean just look at this desert platter! Enough said.

THE MENU

Here, there is a strong focus on shared plates and cocktails with a ‘feminine spin on some old school classics’. Take Perth’s staple Espresso Martini, in which they use cold brew coffee instead of the usual shot of espresso. But if that’s not for you they also have a generous array of wines, beers and ciders to choose from.

An awesome place to host an event, the people behind the counter have curated a number of event options to cater for all types of groups. You can put together a small intimate event for 8-12 people, hire out the whole venue for up to 300 or anything in between.

Keeping true to the sharing theme, the food options include snacks, snack bowls, shared boards and even food stations that have been crafted by Head Chef Chase Weber. The bites are unique to say the least with hints of Asian flavours, like miso glazed ocean trout or a crisp zucchini flower salad, forming a modern twist of Australian produce with inspirations and tastes from our closest neighbours.

As the days get longer and the sun stronger, people are now looking for those long warm alcoholic fuelled afternoons that somehow turn into evenings, and what’s a better way to welcome in the up and coming season than with an event at The Standard?

A perfect place for a Sunday Session and a couple of drinks after work, in fact it's pretty perfect for anything! And did I mention the food was amazing? Well, screw it I'm mentioning it again.

If you didn't know about it, you know now. Go and check it our for yourself!
